Phase I of the game deals with the start-up process of a business hotel located in a european city centre. The player is faced with typical phases of a start-up each of which contains special economic and organisational challenges.

This phase of the game introduces students to basic business principles helping them to understand the interplay of business and economics in a hotel.

In general, the player learns…


…how to achieve given objectives by analysing and evaluating business situations, making plans and translating plans into actions

…how to choose and implement courses of action in order to get back on track if planned and achieved performances are not achieved


…how to use the computer for analysing and evaluating decision making processes

Each game round focuses on developing specific skills and competencies the player has to use in the business world.
